Joyce Reed, Associate Dean of the College, Brown University
Joyce Reed came by homeschooling the old fashioned way when she and her anthropologist husband were living in a remote Hawaiian location during the '70s. With no electricity, telephone, television, radio, or school, the Reeds had to educate their five children themselves. In 2003, this pioneer homeschooler and academic will be launching her own college consulting business, focusing on children coming from nontraditional educational backgrounds.
