Financial cost of treatment

Does anyone have anything to share here about the cost of treatment regarding the uninsured? How do they get treatment? I'm guessing most adult addicts have very few resources for treatment. My son will be getting out of jail soon, with no treatment after a violent crime. We thought he would be forced to go into treatment via the court system. NO. Governments are all broke but are OK about paying for years of incarceration once the addicts become really criminal. I just hate our whole system of dealing with addiction and mental illness. Any feedback that's sincere is appreciated.
