Pain and hope

I just finished Beautiful Boy and Tweak. I come from a family of addiction, going through it my whole life. I sit back and watch my brother, mother and aunt struggle with the disease and their choices. I've lost 2 cousins to drugs. I don't understand it, not sure I ever will, but these 2 books gave me hope that one day, they will get the help they need. I have two children, one in her teens. I worry about her making bad decisions. I have her read books about addiction hoping that she will learn from other's mistakes. These books have touched a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing your stories with the world.
