Cindykay first told us about this Hallmark presentation a few weeks, and I'd been looking forward to it ever since her post. Would like to hear reactions of those here who watched it tonight. I did, but will chime in later.

As an aside: Cindykay, did David Sheff ever respond to your e-mail? Did anyone from HMH intervene? I gather that nobody had as of a few days ago. Has the site 100% recovered?

I did watch the movie. I felt it could have been a series as they touched on so many issues, but did not go into depth on any. I understand that it was the origination of Al-anon and how it came to be. It did portray the life of living with an addict, but did not show much of the struggles he encountered in sobriety or the many issues facing those who live with an addict. They could have shown so much more of the inner struggles Lois lived with and the day to day battles she encountered trying to "cure" him. The reviews gave much more information than the movie did.

I just watched the movie as I had DVR's it the other evening. Yes, tears were shed. I thought it was a good OVERVIEW of the alcholic's life and of the lives that they affect. For us, who ARE living with someone in our lives affected, we know how much more intense it is. I am personally greatful for Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob, for they have saved lives and hopefully my loved one. I pray my loved one will take hold of the program and everyone else faced with an addiction....
