Meet Hugo the Elephant, Cornville's painter extraordinaire! He's so extraordinary, in fact, that he believes he has painted everything. And since an artist without an idea is an artist in trouble, Hugo's best friend, Miles, decides the painter in a predicament must accompany him on a very important business trip to Paris. Surely the City of Lights will be able to set Hugo's imagination ablaze.
After visiting all the famed museums, sitting in the park, and seeing the sights, Hugo is still without an idea for his next painting. But on their last day in Paris, Hugo and Miles climb up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Sacré bleu! With a little change in perspective, Hugo realizes a world of artistic possibilities awaits his paintbrush.
Artist and designer extraordinaire Scott Magoon started his creative career at a young age. "I remember as a child being very excited about sitting down with crayon and paper, eager to draw but frustrated with exactly what to draw next," notes Scott. It seems he has overcome his frustration; Scott is the illustrator of Ugly Fish, the Baby Berlitz series, and the forthcoming Luck of the Loch Ness Monster. When he's not drawing or painting, he can be found designing children's books at Houghton Mifflin. Scott lives with his wife and two sons in Medford, Massachusetts.
